Land Link

This page is a first step in trying to link willing growers with those people with appropriate land. It will be a simple bulletin board format for now, but hopefully will evolve as we learn more about the needs of the prospective grower and the land owner including resources on appropriate arrangements for securing land for production such as leases and other methods. Please contact Jim Dyer if you would like to post a listing.

We are simply listing information we receive and in no way can verify any statements made. Any agreements are solely between the individuals who make contact.

LISTINGS (most recent first):

  • 62 acres in Egnar, CO. Of the 62 acres, 20 acres have been cleared and are ready to be farmed, and am currently searching for someone to farm it. However, there is no irrigation on the property, nor is there any electricity. Also, I will not be allowing any pesticides or chemical treatment on the land ( all must be organic ).  The rest of my property is set to be a self sustainable eco village / ranch. I will be moving down there here in the next month or so to get things off the ground. I am well versed in aquaponics, hydroponics, and aqua-culture gardening techniques, as well as most self sustainable practices, renewable energies, and alternative / experimental home design. I can be reached at 801-637-9637. (Posted on 26th of March, 2012).

  • Farm for Lease in southwest Archuleta County Colorado with two small houses included if necessary. I am looking for somebody familiar with organic and sustainable agricultural practices. Excellent water and enough ground for a small livestock production and large gardens. Also enough good ground for cash crops such as Lavender and grapes.  I have an open mind as to the type of arrangement. If interested call Dave 970.901.9989  (Posted 19 March 2012)

  • One mile south of Bayfield.   We have an outdoor arena approximately 75 by 125 feet  on our 30 acre piece of land.  No pesticides or herbicides have been used on this plot.  We have steer and horse manure available and access to water.  I would like some produce for my own use and help for electricity for the pump.   Available 2012.  Phone is 970-884-1757, 970-903-9552.  Email is  janw.brown@gmail.com  (posted 14 Nov 2011)

  • Land wanted to farm for the 2012 season. Ideally a lease with an option to purchase or lease to own type situation. I would like to grow vegetables (2-4 acres) and small scale grain (10-40 acres). Irrigation needed.  Preferably in Montezuma County (Lewis, Arriola, Mancos, Dolores, Yellow Jacket, Cortez). Contact Dustin at 970-769-1222. (posted 14 Nov 2011)

  • East of Durango: I have two or more acres of very fertile, rock-free, well-irrigated land on CR 222 about 20 min. east of downtown Durango.  I currently have a vegetable garden, approximately 100x100 feet.  More land is currently in mowed grass and unmowed pasture, irrigated with a combination of gated pipe and sprinklers.  Any amount of this could be converted for gardening.  I would like some produce for my own use, and I would like the person using the land to caretake my yard and flowers when I am away on vacation or visiting family.  No other charge.  Land photos available.  Carol Huser <Carol.Huser@co.laplata.co.us> (posted 5 Aug 2011)
